Program Manager (New position)

Roles & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Program Manager will support the development of grant-making programs and community initiatives for ZeShan Foundation, a charitable entity established by a Hong Kong family giving both locally and globally.  As we have been testing our new strategies, the Manager is expected to help address various social issues, including environment, housing, ageing and social inclusion.  Key responsibilities are: 

  • Conducting stakeholder mapping and context analyses on social issues;
  • Identifying critical entry points, new partnerships and opportunities for program development which drives for lasting changes and thematic outcomes;
  • Convening strategic dialogues with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Fostering the development of partnerships, network building and collaborations with peer funders and partners;
  • Ensuring the quality of project and program management; and
  • Planning program monitoring and evaluation, and sharing learnings internally and externally. 

Occasional deployment may be required to support other sister philanthropic entities in the family office.


  • Bachelor’s Degree or above in any related subjects;
  • At least 10 years of relevant work experience in non-profit, social or philanthropic sectors;
  • Proven track record in program development, multi-project management, grant-making,  stakeholder engagement, sector building and partnership building;
  • Formal training and/or hands-on experiences related to sustainability, housing, marginalized groups and/or community development;
  • Strong analytical skills and fast learner in understanding complex issues and dynamics;
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills in both English and Chinese (including Cantonese);
  • Extensive networks in NGO, philanthropic and other sectors in Hong Kong and/or other parts of Asia;
  • Long-time commitment in promoting social development and/or social justice;
  • Strong skills in public speaking and meeting facilitation;
  • Ability to work with a team approach and in consensus culture;
  • Being mature in handling interpersonal relationships and building partnerships; and
  • Proficiency in social media tools and Microsoft Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, Access, etc.)
